The practical questions directors ask us.

What do you need from us to get started?

A 30-minute call and a short questionnaire, plus the things only you have: your HSE licence or training details, insurance certificates, prequalification and membership certificates, photos from recent jobs and a few notes on the work you are proudest of. We ask for these on day one because they are the only thing that can slow a four-week build.

What about hosting and the domain?

Both are included free for the first year: fast, secure UK hosting with an SSL certificate, and your domain registered in your name. Before the year is up we tell you the renewal cost, and you are free to renew with us or move them elsewhere. If you already have a domain, we use it, and it stays yours throughout.

Will we lose our Google rankings if you rebuild the site?

No. We launch on your existing domain and redirect every old page that ranked to its new equivalent, so the history you have built carries over. Most sites gain visibility after launch because the new pages finally match what people search for.

Can we edit the website ourselves after launch?

Yes. Sites are built on WordPress, so you can change text, add photos or post news yourself. Many clients prefer to leave it to the monthly plan, which adds a new page or case study each month and keeps your credentials up to date online.

Can you take over our existing website or Google Ads account?

Yes. We start with the free check to see what is worth keeping. If your site is sound, the monthly plan can improve it without a rebuild. For Google Ads we work inside your own account, so the history and data are always yours.

How do you measure results?

Calls and form enquiries are tracked from launch, rankings are checked for your services and towns, and each month we test whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI name you for the questions your buyers ask. You get it all on one page every month, in plain English: what moved, what produced work and what we are doing next.

We are a small or non-licensed firm. Is this worth it for us?

Often more so. Garage roofs, cement sheets, Artex and floor tiles are searched every day by homeowners who want a price and a firm nearby. A site with a clear cost guide, area pages and reviews that mention the job wins those enquiries directly instead of paying a lead platform for a share of them. The free check will tell you honestly whether the numbers stack up for your patch.

Do you help with tenders and frameworks?

We do not write bids, but the website does a lot of the work a framework evaluator checks: credentials they can verify, case studies written like tender answers, sector pages and named supervisors. Our guide to winning housing association and council frameworks sets out how the two fit together.

How do you write case studies without breaching client confidentiality?

We describe the job rather than the client unless you have permission to name them: the type of building, the material, the method, the constraints, the timescale and the clearance outcome. That detail is what buyers and AI tools look for, and it rarely needs a client name to be convincing.

Do you work for lead-generation networks or directories?

No. Those platforms compete with our clients for their own customers, so we only work for the contractors, surveyors and analysts who do the work.

What happens if we decide to leave?

Everything is yours: the website, the domain, the content, the Google Business Profile and the Google Ads account. After the six-month minimum on the SEO and AI plan, and at any time on Google Ads, you cancel by email and the next invoice simply does not arrive.

What are schema markup and llms.txt, and do we need them?

Schema is structured data that states facts about your business, such as your licence, address and services, in a form search engines and AI tools read directly. llms.txt is a plain-text summary of your site written for AI assistants. Almost no contractor sites have either, which is why the ones that do get cited. Both come as standard. The glossary explains these and other terms in plain English.

The questions, answered

How much does an asbestos contractor website cost with Envirorank?

£3,500, with no hidden fees. That covers up to 25 service and material pages, an accreditations page with your licence written out so Google and AI tools can read them, a cost guide with estimate form, up to ten local area pages, up to 15 case studies, up to five sector pages, a quote form with photo upload and the technical setup that helps Google and AI tools read your site, your Google Business Profile, analytics and call tracking. Copy is written for you, hosting and your domain are free for the first year, and the site is live in four weeks. See pricing.

What do the monthly plans cost and what is the minimum term?

SEO and AI visibility is £300 a month with a six-month minimum, then month to month. Google Ads management is £300 a month plus a one-off £900 set-up charge, with ad spend paid to Google separately and no minimum term, though we recommend six months to judge results fairly.

Do you work with surveyors and analysts as well as removal contractors?

Yes. Survey and testing firms, licensed removal contractors, non-licensed and NNLW contractors and demolition groups with an asbestos division. See who we help.

What is the Four Stage Clearance?

A free three-minute check that scores your website on the four stages buyers and AI tools go through before they call: Found, Trusted, Shortlisted and Contacted. Sixteen questions, scored out of 32, with a copy by email and a personal review from us within one working day. Run it here.

What is AI visibility?

Being named when someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google AI for an asbestos contractor, surveyor or analyst. AI tools recommend businesses they can verify from the open web: licence numbers written out, consistent business details, reviews that mention the service and pages that answer specific questions. We build those signals in and keep them current.

Do you guarantee rankings or AI mentions?

No. Nobody honest can, because Google and the AI tools make the decision. We commit to the work, to measuring it and to telling you plainly when it is not moving.

Who owns the website and the Google Ads account?

You do, from day one. Your domain, hosting, WordPress logins and Ads account are in your name. Everything we build is yours from day one, so you are always in control.

How long does a website take?

Four weeks from the first call, with the date agreed before we start and the credentials, photos and your answers gathered in week one. Most delays are waiting for licence documents and photos.

Do you need us to write anything?

No. A 30-minute call and a short questionnaire give us what we need. You review and correct every page before it goes live.

Will the site mention our prices?

Where you have them, yes. The cost question drives thousands of searches a month, and the guide sites answering it today are selling those enquiries to five contractors at a time. Your own honest price ranges keep the enquiry on your site. If you only quote on inspection, we say that clearly and explain what affects the price.

Where are you based and do you cover my area?

North Shields, working with contractors across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland by phone, email and Teams. See areas we cover.
